Apple User Group on Prosper has moved to a new home at Mac Lenders
Welcome to the Apple User Group on Prosper.com! Here are a few very helpful tips to follow to increase your chances of your loan being funded and at a good rate. Take a look at you loan from a lenders perspective and calculate what your loan will cost if you pay it off early.
Create a User Profile
Lenders need to know something about you, e.g. your occupation, interests, reasons for needing the loan, etc. Also, include a picture, make sure it looks good on your computer screen.
Detailed Loan Listing
Don't be too brief! Tell your potential lenders what you intend to purchase with the money, what you will be using it for and how you will repay the loan. Providing detailed information helps the potential lenders decide on whether or not they want to fund your request. Again, include a picture. Make sure to spell and grammar check!
Suggested Interest Rates
You will be subjected to a credit check by Prosper. The rate you request will be, in part, determined by your credit history and state limits. Guideline interest rates are:
AA rating: 7-9%
A rating: 8-12%
B rating: 10-14%
C rating: 11-17%
D rating: 15-24%
E rating: 22-27% (use immediate funding )
NC rating: 23-27% (keep the loan request under $3001 & use immediate funding )
HR rating: 27.5% (keep the loan request under $3001 & use immediate funding )
If your Debit to Income level is above 10% or the amount of your loan is above $5,000.00, you should lean towards a higher rate. Take a look at what the average interest rate is for your credit score.
Give your listing time
At least 7 days, 10 days if you are a E or HR. Post listings between 5 PM & 9 PM Eastern time. Post 7 Day listings Tuesday - Friday, and post 10 day listings Saturday - Tuedsay.
Use "Immediate Funding " to appeal to lenders who don't want to wait for your listing to end before reaping the rewards of investing in you. Plus you'll get your loan quicker! Everyone wins! If you need to relist, revisit this checklist and tweak your approach.
